 This 7.8-mile out-and-back trail near Salem, Virginia is rated a moderate for an avid hiker. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 51 min to complete. This is a very popular area for backpacking, camping, and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring.

Please make sure you bring enough water, snacks, & food for a full day of hiking. You should also have comfortable hiking boots due to the terrain changes throughout the hike.
