Richmond’s Slave Trail Family & Friends Hike

Join BGHRVA  as we embark on Richmond’s Slave Trail, a historic walking trail that traces the history of enslaved Africans to Virginia. This 4.5 mile trek features the James River as well as trail markers chronicling the slave trade history to and from Richmond. This trail includes the true story of Mary Lumpkin, an enslaved concubine of a wicked slave trader, Robert Lumpkin.
